The news broke this morning.

Charleston’s King Street shopping district was named one of “America’s 10 Best Shopping Streets” by US News and World Report. From our home at 302 King Street, this news comes as no surprise, in fact we’ve known how amazing our street is for almost three decades. But, it feels pretty good to be ranked up there with Rodeo Drive and Chicago’s Magnificent Mile.

The article provides a perfect description of what we and our neighbors are about, “While many consider Atlanta to be the shopping destination of the South, we find Charleston to be much more appealing. In our opinion, Buckhead’s mega-malls can’t compete with the charms of King Street. This historic avenue pulses with pedestrians in search of the perfect outfit or gift… it’s the number of family-owned boutiques and male clothiers that really distinguishes King Street… Although King Street bustles with pastel-clad patrons particularly in the spring, you’ll find Southern hospitality persists year-round.”

We love our niche as the lone, locally owned and operated lingerie boutique on King Street, especially with the holidays upon us! It’s that magical time of year when King Street receives a festive makeover with wreath-and-light bedazzled palm trees and Marion Square’s mega Christmas tree.

Bits of Lace is officially in the spirit.  Our holiday music is on, the most elegant sleepwear, robes, lingerie and cashmere are checked in and a majestic Christmas tree is tucked in our storefront window.  Planning is also underway for our annual Men’s Shopping Night. We’ve partnered with Croghan’s Jewel Box this year and set the event for December 15th from 5:30-8:00.

Men’s Night shoppers will enjoy personalized shopping, free gift wrapping and fashion models while snacking on h’or duerves and sipping on champagne. The evening benefits Debi’s Kids and MUSC Children’s Hospital. A perfect event and perfect timing to cross every last item off her list. Call us for details 843-577-0999!

Hip-hip-hooray for King Street!
