Bits of Lace GAL

For over 35 years, women from around the country have looked to Bits of Lace for their lingerie and bra shopping needs. It has been an honor to have women shop in our boutique that make positive impacts in our community. We wanted the opportunity to recognize these amazing women and share their stories with all of you.

Bits of Lace launched the GAL (Give A Lift) campaign where we strive to uplift women who uplift others. Each month we recognize a new woman who represents the boutique’s core beliefs. The Bits of Lace GAL is giving, innovative, intelligent and beautiful. During her month in the spotlight we feature her story on our blog, Facebook and twitter pages. She also receives a bra fitting, personalized shopping experience and a fun-filled photo shoot with our Bits of Lace mannequins, Bitsy and Lacey, who display her favorite bra and panty set.

Meet our Bits of Lace “GAL” October 2013

Megan LaPerla

Miss South Carolina USA 2014, Megan Pinckney

We were honored to have the reigning Miss South Carolina USA, Megan Pinckney, visit our downtown Charleston boutique for her very own personal bra fitting! This down to earth Southern beauty represents our great state with such class. Megan loves La Perla, and was thrilled to add their fabulous “Volta” black lace bra and panty set to her lingerie wardrobe.

“My experience at Bits of Lace was unlike any other experience I have ever had at any other lingerie store. From the moment I entered, I was greeted by the sales associate and felt like the most important person in the building. She had a way of making me feel comfortable and helped me through every step of picking the correct lingerie set for my body. I love the La Pearl bra and panties that I left the store with and cannot wait to return to purchase more sets!”- Megan Pinckney, Miss South Carolina USA 2013

It has been quite a busy year for Megan, the Charleston native. She has spent the last twelve months traveling around the country and all over the state of South Carolina. Countless hours have been spent volunteering and instilling character building skills through her program “Karacter begins with K”. She has spent time with patients at the children’s hospitals in both Charleston and Greenville, has passed out care packages to soldiers through the Wounded Warrior Project in North Augusta, distributed toys to children throughout the Greater Charleston area with Marines through Toys for Tots, and implemented her platform “Karacter begins with K” through her own personal programs as well as visiting various elementary and middle schools. In the midst of her busy year, Megan had the opportunity to compete in Las Vegas at the Miss USA pageant representing her home state of South Carolina, finishing in the top 5. Megan crowns her successor this month at the North Charleston Performing Arts center, and will finish classes at the University of South Carolina this December.

With her degree, she plans to become a buyer for a high-end department store, own her own boutique, build a lifestyle brand or possibly become the editor of a magazine. She has served as an intern to the Sherri Hill team, accompanying them at markets and New York Fashion Week, and serves as a member of the National Retail Federation. Megan had the opportunity to study abroad in Italy where she studied the food and fashion of the Italian culture.

Megan is currently a Legislative Aide for a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives. In her free time she enjoys traveling and immersing herself in new cultures, collecting and reading Vogue magazines and cheering on the Gamecocks! She also prides herself in community service work and volunteerism. In 2011 she was a recipient of the Presidential Service Award.

It is an honor to partner with those who represent our core mission of empowering others, giving back to our community and making women feel beautiful.  The core component of the Bits of Lace business model is specialty bra fittings with trained professionals in a personal and private atmosphere. We listen, guide and support our customers in finding ways to express themselves with confidence.

Meet our Bits of Lace “GALs” May 2013

Dede Warren & B.V. Messervy

In honor of Mother’s Day and two fabulous women, we are proud to recognize our Bits of Lace May 2013 GALs, Dede Warren and B.V. Messervy. This local mother/daughter residential real estate team is truly a dynamic duo! Dede has been selling Lowcountry homes for 20 years and B.V. joined her 9 years go. They worked together planning B.V.’s wedding and realized what compatible partners they were. They are now in the top 1% of Charleston realtors and close 50+ transactions each year.

In addition to helping people find their dream homes, Dede and B.V. have a strong focus on giving back to the community. They are active with the Junior League of Charleston, Rotary Club of Mt. Pleasant, and Seacoast Church. Whether it’s chairing new fundraisers or wielding a hammer at a Habitat for Humanity house, these two love local charity work.

The bond between a mother and daughter is one of the most precious. Dede and B.V. feel very blessed to share this bond personally and professionally.
